Gauntlets (also referred to as heavy gloves in the in-game mouseover text) are the heaviest form of hand protection available in Swords & Potions. As such, they are preferred by classes which engage in hand-to-hand combat, specifically the Barbarian, Berserker, Guard, Knight, Paladin, and Soldier.
As gauntlets contain metal parts, all gauntlets require the cooperation of the blacksmith and tailor. Gauntlets are one of the smallest categories of items, with only seven types of gauntlets available. This can make suggesting difficult (especially because there is a large gap between iron gauntlets and any higher gauntlets), and the spectacular gauntlets (which have a relatively poor rate of return for their rare material usage) are the only high-end option.
The following table shows the properties of all gauntlets in Swords & Potions. Token recipes are indicated by blue shading.
